We love summer for its long days, warm weather, and relaxing beach excursions. For us, summer is also the busiest season, as Hilton Head Island attracts visitors from near and far to enjoy our Lowcountry splendor. That means we’re renting a lot of bikes and bike accessories, while maintaining our customers’ personal bikes, guiding bike tours, and just being an overall resource for local and visiting riders.
We increase our staff during these busy months through our internship program, and we’re already excited to welcome this year’s nine recruits.
Launched more than seven years ago, the program has seen more than 70 young people take part, and a third of them have earned college credit for their work with us. The internship benefits include housing, a full-time job, and entrepreneurship coaching.
This program gives us the ability to keep things rolling for everyone who needs us during summer. For the interns, the program offers the chance to learn about running a business in an industry they are passionate about – cycling.
