At Hilton Head Bicycle, we’ll typically jump at any chance to ride around the Lowcountry. Once a year, that opportunity gets even better when it’s time for Pedal Hilton Head Island, the recreational charity ride that welcomes participants of all ages and levels to select a ride and set off with a group of like-minded locals and possibly some visitors too. Now in its 19th year, this event raises funds for the Boys & Girls Club of the Lowcountry, and we’re thrilled to be a Sprint level sponsor in 2026.
This fun one-day event, held on Sunday, May 3, lets bikers explore Hilton Head Island and Bluffton while supporting the work of the Boys & Girls Club. It includes multiple routes, so participants can choose from the Family Fun & Club Kids Rides of about 2 miles to the Metric Century ride that covers 62 miles in three to four hours and lots of other options in between. The rides are escorted to keep everyone on the same track. Ramping up the already scenic local landscapes, the routes take riders into private communities usually off-limits to individuals but offering some of the best views around.
As a Sprint sponsor, we’re making sure more kids can join the 2-mile family ride, including those who are part of the Boys & Girls Club crew. So we’re bringing 80 bikes for folks to borrow and plenty of kids helmets to keep them safe. We’ll be onsite getting bike borrowers properly fitted before they hit the road.
Pedal Hilton Head Island has long been a cornerstone event for the Boys & Girls Club, working to keep children on the path to academic success. This year, riders can choose from multiple routes on Hilton Head Island and Bluffton, and all participants are invited to a post-ride meal and refreshments.
Be sure to register soon and choose your package and route. This is a recreational ride, not a race, so whatever biking level you and your loved ones have, you can all make it a fun way to spend time together doing something good for our community.
